Pre-Surgical Evaluation

We provide industry standard psychological evaluations for purposes of determining "readiness" for surgery, identifying relevant risk factors and diagnoses, and outlining potential interventions for addressing any risk factors or diagnoses that may exist.

Diagnostic Evaluation

When an appropriate diagnosis is in question, we conduct an in-depth, comprehensive psychological assessment of a patient's history, presenting problems, and other relevant clinical factors.

Psychological Consultation

We provide more than just answers to what's wrong, but also what's next. Consultation is available to patients, providers, and clients regarding diagnostic and treatment considerations, forensic questions, and industrial-organizational needs.

Services Available

PRE-SURGICAL PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT

Psychological assessment is conducted over one extensive evaluation appointment in which all relevant risk factors, protective factors, and diagnoses are identified. In cases wherein surgical readiness is in question, recommendations for achieving readiness are provided to both patient and referring provider. A finalized report is generated and forwarded to the surgical team presenting main findings and conclusions.

DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT

When diagnostic questions are a concern of either patient or referring provider, and primary care settings do not afford the time or opportunity to provide in-depth assessment, a full diagnostic evaluation goes a long way. This multi-method assessment process follows the biopsychosocial model and considers a patient's full history and current functioning in coming to appropriate diagnostic conclusions.

PSYCHOLOGICAL CONSULTATION

Appointments are available to both patients and providers for consultation regarding appropriate empirically supported treatments and interventions for various psychological diagnoses. Additionally, consultation services are available to those with questions of a clinical, forensic, or industrial-organizational nature.

PSYCHOTHERAPY

Individual, couples, and family therapies are available for treatment of a variety of diagnoses and issues (e.g., depression, anxiety, PTSD, stress). Treatment approaches include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Therapies (e.g., Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy), and other approaches depending on various diagnostic considerations.

Our Approach & Philosophy

Our philosophy is that psychology and its extensive body of knowledge and research are only useful insofar as they can help the patients and referring providers who need them. Therefore, we aim to provide services with an eye toward making psychological tools, lessons, and methods as accessible, clear, and user-friendly as possible. Each individual and case is unique, so an individualized process is designed for each person we serve. We meet each patient where they are and work toward collaboratively designing an evaluation or treatment plan that best meets their individual needs.
